Futures: Developmental Youth Soccer Program for 2-4 year olds

UKC Futures are a unique developmental soccer program designed for toddlers and Pre-K aged 18 months to 4 years. Our program combines the fundamentals of soccer with activities that enhance motor skills, coordination, teamwork, and confidence. We aim to provide a positive introduction to sports and physical activity in a safe, nurturing, and enjoyable environment.

Curriculum:

Sprouts (18-24 months): This parent participation class uses a variety of props, songs, and games to engage toddlers in participation activities. We will help develop simple motor skills using engaging games. Focus points: listening skills, teamwork, balance, foot-eye coordination, running control, basic motor skills, introduction to soccer, parent-child bonding activities, having fun!

Footy's (2-3 years): This class is the progressive class to Sprouts with parent participation being optional. It develops advanced motor skills using engaging, fun games. The goal is to improve the child's fitness, soccer skills, and athleticism. Focus points: enhanced motor skills, basic soccer techniques (i.e. kicking, dribbling), interactive games, listening skills, advanced foot-eye coordination, teamwork, and sharing.

Caps (3-4 years): We will introduce challenging skills and new concepts. The emphasis is on individual motor skill development and fitness. We use a variety of fun games to develop balance, movement, motor and soccer skills as well as listening to instructions.Very active and fun. Focus points: kicking, running control, dribbling, following directions, teamwork, and building relationships on and off the field.

Cost, Class Schedule, Times:

Each session is 6-weeks long. Cost for each session is $90/session. Includes 6 instructor led classes. Sprouts classes are 40 minutes long and Footy's & Caps classes are 45 minutes. Sessions are available in both Missouri and Kansas. Ongoing registration, open enrollment, free trial classes are available on request. "Create-a-Class" option: playgroups or other community associations can create their own class, with the instructor of their choice, on the day and time of their choosing! 

Wednesday Morning Classes: Caps (3-4 years) 9:00am; Footy’s (2-3 years) 10:00am; Sprouts (18-24 months)

Wednesday Evening Classes: Sprouts (18-24 months) 5:30pm; Footy’s (2-3 years) 6:20pm; Caps (3-4 years) 7:10pm

Friday Classes: Sprouts (18-24 months) 9:00am; Footy's (2-3 years) 10:00am; Caps (3-4 years) 11:00am

Childcare Centers & Preschools: We also partner with local childcare centers and preschools to offer our program as part of their curriculum. If you are interested in us providing classes at your daycare, please email sgropper@unionkcsoccer.com.

Conclusion:

Futures aims to set the foundation for a lifetime of physical activity and healthy living for toddlers through soccer. By focusing on early development and creating a fun, supportive environment, Futures will be a valued addition to the community, helping young children thrive physically, cognitively, and socially. Additionally, Futures allows Union KC Soccer Club to be one of the only clubs in the country to offer soccer classes from "Cradle to College".
